About CAW CASA Programs in District 15
Claymation GIFs at MS 254
Sculpture at MS 254
Drawing and Painting at MS 45
Imaginary Monuments at MS 45
In a new CASA designation at MS 254, CAW provided a program of Claymation GIFs in the fall and Sculpture in the spring. Both were held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:30PM
MS 45 was a renewed CASA designation in fiscal year 2019. CAW implemented a Drawing and Painting program in the fall for 90 minutes on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from October to December. CAW's Spring curriculum was Painting Imaginary Monuments from January through May. Classes were 90 minutes on Wednesdays and Thursdays for 12 weeks.
All CAW programs were led by CAW's professional Teaching Artists and Teaching Artist Assistants with the direction and oversight of CAW Program Director Daniel Bergman and with curriculum development and professional development support by Program Manager of Teaching and Learning Lance Paladino.
All of our CASA programs were promoted in the school via recruiting fliers created by CAW in English and Spanish. Separate fliers also promoted each culminating event. Fliers were provided to each school in sufficient quantity for students to take home for their families.
Each program had a culminating event which entailed a final exhibition and celebration for invited guests including fellow students school leadership, teachers, and families. In the case of the set design program, the performances of the play served as the culminating event.
