Chelsea Oppong

Chelsea Oppong is a recent high school graduate from University Heights High School who will be starting college in the fall. Chelsea’s family originates from Ghana, West Africa and she currently lives in the Bronx, New York. She previously interned at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and has also worked in retail. She aspires to become a healthcare professional and is planning to study the sciences in college. She also has participated in the Today at Apple Youth Creative Program which explored similar artistic disciplines as Creative Art Works. During her summer with Creative Art Works, Chelsea was able to explore photography and filmmaking while also thinking about her community and social justice issues. Overall, Chelsea was able to connect more with her community and use film making to analyze and explore the issue of police brutality.
