About the Artist
Chris Anzurez is an 18 year old Mexican-American. He is a senior who is going to graduate in 2022 from Information Technology high school. He grew up in Queens, NY with his parents and siblings. He is both athletic and smart with a love for combat sports and martial arts. This is his first CAW job but has worked previously at a Dunkin Donuts, and Pharmacy as a crew member and stock boy. He has never taken any art classes outside of school but was alway interested and admired different types of art. He chose to join this program hoping to learn how to draw and to learn a little bit of everything he could so he would be able to better prepare for his future. The best part of this internship for him is the new skills that he has gained such as problem solving skills and different ways to think outside the box. He had also refined his old skills and made them better. He spends his time watching anime, reading manga, playing video games, and training in martial arts. He spends most of his time thinking about his future and loves to talk about different things.
My character was originally supposed to be a female but the my original inspiration was the duality of man. After many attempts, I could not find a way to represent this idea with the female character as well as I could with a male character.
In this final drawing, there are two different sides to the character's personality. One side he is angry and hurt with scars and blood all over his body, and there is a crater and an orange sky and black sun with a purple aura. On the left side, he is a happier, calmer and neater version of the character with no scars or ripped clothes a peaceful background behind him.
