About the Artist
Jah-mier, born and raised in New York, is currently a student in UAG. A young 15 year old black male who is very talented, yet he doubts all of his skills. The CAW paid internship was Jah-mier’s first actual job. At first he was very doubtful about being able to maintain the job because he was very inexperienced in the art field, but after joining and learning more about the program and art he began to enjoy it. Initially Jah-mier wasn't going to join the program because of his doubts, He assumed that since he wasn't very good at art he wouldn't be allowed to work. Jah-mier, while working in the internship, enjoyed many aspects of it but if there was one outstanding thing he liked, It was the fact that he was able to get a better understanding of art and it helped him improve his artwork. Jahmier has made a couple new friends and has gained a lot of experience and new skills thanks to the program. Even though Art isn’t his strong suit he is really good at other things. Jahmier is a very good writer and enjoys writing a lot, and thanks to the program he was able to improve his writing skills and was able to develop a more creative mind.
