About the Artist
Jalissa Edwards is a 14 year old female who was born and raised in Harlem. She is a freshman that attends Manhattan Early College For Advertising (MECA). Through that school she was given the opportunity to do a character design internship, which was a new experience for her. In the start of the internship she never really took drawing seriously, but throughout the internship she became much more fond of it. While doing SAT, Track & violin practice, she was able to form new bonds through the internship and improve her drawing skills. Jalissa was able to use this skill as a way to freely express her ideas and create a sense of peace within herself.
