About the Artist
J’Chad Lawrence lives in the Bronx and attends Fordham High School for the Arts as a senior. Beginning to work for Creative Artworks marked the start of his first job, which is an incredible milestone for him. Previously he would only draw characters for fun, but now he can get paid for it!
J’Chad decided to join the CAW program so that he could study more on character design and animation. So far, the program has been amazing for him, forcing critical thinking and analysis of both his and others’ artwork. A big perk of the program is being able to meet new people–to be able to give and receive feedback from each other.
Most of J’Chad’s life is spent drawing or playing games, and consequently has some proficiency at both. He enjoys playing RPGs in particular, getting to through different worlds through a character’s eyes. This is one of the many reasons he finds this program great–he gets to learn the process behind designing the characters that he loves.
