Jeanine Afoakwa Design Portfolio

About the Artist

Jeanine Afoakwa was born in Ghana and raised in the Bronx. She goes to school in Manhattan at Manhattan Early College For Advertising. She also lives with her mom, dad, and two younger siblings. She has been involved in many activities such as basketball, football, art club, theater club, and dance club. Jeanine has faced her fair share of stress growing in NYC and she uses art such as painting, sketching, coloring, or drawing characters to cope. This isn’t Jeanine's first internship, last year she experienced the working environment with SYEP within entrepreneurship. She chose to join the Creative Art Work Design program to step out of her comfort zone when it comes to art because she can learn new art types. In this program, she has learned how to advance her characters and how to improve certain details about them. As the days go by, she continues to improve and learn how to advance her artwork when making characters, which can also help her when she wants to do other art such as her other hobbies listed above.

Final Character Design

For my final image I included high top suspenders to show professionalism and still incorporated the nails. And the circles on the head shows the hair being done. I am satisfied with my final image because it shows me as an artist and my thought process as well.
