About the Artist
Kaylei J. Mateo is a senior at MECA who was born and raised in Manhattan. She is a self taught artist who has been drawing for nine years and has experience in designing tattoos, logos and posters as a freelance artist. She chose to join the Creative Art Works Character Design program to have something to put on her resume and to touch up on her skills. She hopes to draw well enough in every genre of art whether it be painting or portraits. Drawing can be a somewhat sensitive topic for her because her father shares the same skill and isn’t currently in her life. Touching up on the skill will allow her to feel better about the topic and become confident and comfortable with her talent.
