Rose Bajracharya Character Design Portfolio

About the Artist

Rose Bajracharya is a self taught artist from Queens, NY. She’s a sophomore student in Information Technology High School, and a former student of Aviation High School. Lots of her art is inspired by cartoon-ish/anime-like works from hit series like Chainsaw Man, Sun-Ken Rock, etc. This internship sparked Rose’s interest, as she is into art and has been drawing ever since she was little, wanting an opportunity to improve her artwork even more. She learned more on character design, poses, and storyboarding with characters she creates. She hopes to get better and use her skills for future careers like graphic design and some art based careers.

This was a work in progress for creating the design of my character. I changed things overtime.

I changed the design of the dress, and added another sword, as I wanted her to use dual blades

My character’s name is Haruka Chikafuji (meaning “fragrance” and “near the wisteria”), age 19. Her origins are from Japan, in the 1950-60’s where behind the scenes, hidden organizations run the country and other parts of the world. She partakes in operations as a samurai to keep the country at peace. Haruka is a poker-faced, doll-like girl who follows directions when ordered to. She’s well mannered and has a disciplinary code. She was born into a samurai high-official family that upheld their traditions even after the Meiji Restoration, to protect Japan from foreign organizations. They haven’t had the normal strength as a normal samurai would’ve had, as they had super strength and fast speed. Her favorite thing to do is to train and read! She uses the wakizashi or the katana to fight, sometimes even both as dual weaponry.
