Irene Leung Character Design

About the Artist

Irene Leung is 15 years old and a freshmen attending Millennium High School. She writes in her free time, and also has a passion for painting with watercolors. CAW gave her the skills she needs to build upon, and this internship has allowed Irene to reimagine her writing. She has been motivated by the many art mediums present in her group. This community is a brave space for her to focus on developing meaningful stories of characters to inspire. Kristy, the Teaching Artist, is an inspiration and taught Irene to use basic art skills to put emotion into real characters.

Final Art

My final character Louis is a farmer who works in a rice paddy - I drew inspiration from a moodboard I created. For the setting, I used a reddish and brownish background to contrast with the cooler character.
