Tierra Jones Character Design

About the Artist

Tierra Jones is a 17-year-old junior attending Walter G. O’Connell High School on Long Island. Getting into an art class was very competitive growing up, so she hasn’t been able to get into one since elementary school. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t learned and practiced on her own. She currently works at McDonalds and has realized how difficult it is to juggle school, work, and doing the things that she loves (such as designing characters). One thing she has learned through the internship is that designing a character isn’t just drawing right away; it’s coming up with those ideas, figuring out which shapes work best with the design, having a backstory and so many other components. While learning the important tools to character design, she’s seen the creativity of her peers and has been inspired by them.

Final Art

Some good qualities about her is that she’s very loyal and honest - she won’t lie about anything and wouldn’t throw her partner or teammates under the bus for any reason.
