Ignacio Marino Larrique

Teaching Artist

Ignacio is a multidisciplinary artist and a third-generation frame master with vast knowledge in visual art, animation, and architecture. His projects have grown in both size and complexity over the course of his career, and he currently specializes in large scale murals that focus on community portraits and environmentalism. He has created artworks for brands such as Facebook and The Ford Foundation, as well as for different communities in Europe and the Americas. Most recently, he won a competition to paint a 4,000 square foot site-specific mural across a two-story building along Washington Avenue in the heart to Miami Beach. The mural is a tribute to 20th-century celebrities who have contributed to the identity of Miami Beach.

Born and raised in an art gallery and frame store in Montevideo, Uruguay, Ignacio was introduced to visual arts from a very young age. He possesses a special way to see art through the lens of community and place and then translate that into a wide variety of digital, hand-made, and mixed media. His creative technique combines traditional academic practices with evolving and digital art, giving birth to his own signature style which he refers as "dotting." His art embraces everything from oil painting to NFT's and has been exhibited internationally in over thirty solo and group shows.

Ignacio sees himself as a community enhancer and an avid “plogger."
