Social Justice Posters
We live in a world where young black men are seen as thugs and threats to society. They are being killed and taken away from their families before their lives actually begin. In my poster, you can see an image of a young black boy. His pose demonstrates the opposite of what society typically portrays him to be. His calmness and peacefulness represents the love that is expressed in the slogan. The hands that are so full of color represent everything and everyone in the world. We all have to come together as one to overpower fear with the love that everyone shares. The hate that people have for others is actually fear. When we acknowledge that love is greater than fear, the world will be a better place. We must show the world that " Love Is Greater Than Fear"
In society today there is a lot of fighting and protests against police brutality. While some people go out and protest, others donate money in order to support those protesting in the streets so that their voices can be heard. I decided to use the slogan, "When We Use Our Voice, They Lose Their Power," because it shows people how much impact a person can have on a situation just by speaking up. The woman holding a bullhorn is screaming to others for change. The tunnel as the background is used to emphasize her voice being heard loud and clear. You can also see the poster that she is holding has a crossed-out confederate flag, which shows who exactly are the "they" that will lose their power. No change will be made unless we all speak up as one.
Inclusive Stock Photography
The Inclusive Stock Photography project was designed to address the scarcity of people of color, multicultural people, and LGBTQ+ people in commercial stock photography by creating professional-quality images of these underrepresented people in a variety of everyday settings, including romantic and platonic relationships, family, and communities.
