About the Artist
Wismeiry Pichardo is a sophomore at Fordham High School For The Arts. With being 15 years old, and a Theater major, she did not have much experience with visual art. Wismeiry isn’t used to a professional visual art environment, filled with people who practice these things everyday while she’s acting her heart out and writing scripts. At first she was very hesitant about this internship since she didn’t think she would get anything out of it if she’s not going to study visual art in the future.What her heart is focused on is creative writing and the film industry. However, Wismeiry found that as ironic as it may sound, developing her very own character from her imagination, even if by using a sketchbook, tremendously improved in her career. She started arriving more and more excited every day to work, ready to meet her new friends, and learn more about how to make the people living in your head come to life for the project she’s been dreaming to have. Now Wismeiry’s manuscript is already two thirds to her goal, having perfectly fleshed out characters all because of what the CAW internship has helped her develop.
