About the Artist

Cathleen 'Cat' Brady is a senior at Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology. Born and raised in New York City, she was lucky enough to see many plays and musicals that sparked her creative and inventive mind. In middle school she was able to grow through performing arts programs and found a passion for creating characters (even if mostly on stage). Her experience with the arts became limited as she enrolled at UAGST Creative Art works gave Cat a creative paradise that allowed her to build on characters in ways she never has been able to before. While she herself would describe her visual art skills as limited, her active imagination, wild ideas and desire to learn more, prompted a fierce dedication to character design. She takes inspiration from real life animals, insects and objects to make characters that may be objectively simple at first into developed, complex characters.
