Tyler Robey Character Design Portfolio

About the Artist

Tyler Robey was born in Washington State and moved to New York City in 2021. Currently, he is a student at Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology, and has two years of experience in Mixed Media Art classes. Tyler joined the Creative Art Works Character Design program so that he could learn the skills needed to be a better artist, and to see if animation could be a potential career choice in the future. One thing that he’s learned while in CAW’s program is that drawing and creating elaborate characters is something that he really enjoys doing, and hopes he will get to do in his career. His character, Dewdrop, was created during one of the program’s drawing exercises.

Final Character Design

Dewdrop is a sentient pile of slime with origins from outer space. It was originally found near Ketchikan, Alaska, and was captured and sent to Gehenna Lab. There, we discovered that it obtains nutrients through absorbing organisms into its slime, and appears to enjoy listening to classical music. It enjoys reading books, and has a special interest in history books. It also befriended fellow test subject Screecher, built a body frame using scrap, and escaped during a containment breach. Its current whereabouts are unknown, but it was last seen in the Redwood National Park. If spotted, do not engage. It is extremely hostile to humans, and actively hunts them.
