About the Artist
Zury Reyes is a junior student at Chelsea CTE HS. They were born July 2, 2006 and were raised in The Bronx, NY. Their greatest inspiration has always been Kali Uchis, influencing them to create different types of characters with different traits. Zury heard about the Character Design program through their graphic design teacher and decided to join, to have the experience and be able to learn how to improve their artwork. A topic they have learned about and that they enjoy doing is character interactions, and focusing on the way a character is drawn out from different angles.
They have received a National Technical Honor Society award based on their improvement and growth throughout their high school years. They have built confidence in their artwork making them interested to learn about new topics.
As I was working on these expressions, I was thinking about the emotions I had been feeling that day, and that helped me create the facial expressions for my character.
I chose this color scheme to demonstrate her personality. This helped me create her facial features and expressions.
