Kamila Mukhamedova Character Design Portfolio

About the Artist

From the borough of Queens, NY, Kamila Mukhamedova is currently a senior at Chelsea CTE High School. For her, the Character Design Internship is a new undertaking because prior she never took-part in a creative based job. From a young age she took pride in her detailed and extravagant powerpoint slides.

When entering Graphics, she thought it would be an easy ordeal. However, it was not until junior year that she realised she was surrounded by many gifted people who were far more skilled than her. In her last year at Chelsea, she decided it was time to challenge herself and enter the Creative Art Works Character Design program; Not only because it is a new opportunity for her, but because it gives her a chance to discover her drawing style and explore a field that was always foreign to her. She believes that art is versatile and no creations are identical, yet she struggles with originality and relies on references to start up her inspiration before producing the end result.

The work in progress images that I have chosen are my character sketches, which I drew in class while developing my character. I believe it is important to include drawings of both the face and body so that the two can be clearly examined and seen in detail.

In my final character design, I brought my ideas to life, and the vision I had in mind for Typhoonus all along. I am proud of the way he turned out, and the character that I have created.
